Have you registered your Hamster or Gerbil yet? The fee is $5 ($8 on race day) and we donate all the money to the Mobile County Public Schools.
There’s still plenty of time to gear up for the B&B Pet Stop Hamster & Gerbil Races. Here’s a training schedule for the weeks leading up to the races on April 18, 2015. (I’ll be adding to the training schedule each week – so be sure to click on the “subscribe” button so you’ll be the first to know.)
Note: If you don’t have a ball yet, you’re going to need to get one. Just to be on the safe side, ALWAYS supervise your hamster or gerbil in the ball.
March 16 – March 22, 2015
Start THIS week with a little running time in the ball. If your pet is not used to running around in the ball, limit the exercise to 10-15 minutes at a time. When you return your pet to his cage, make SURE the water bottle is clean and full. Train every other day, so your pet can slowly build his strength.
March 23 – March 29, 2015
This week you can increase the time spent in the ball to about 20 minutes, but continue to give a day off in between each workout day.
We’ll be putting the track up in the next few days – so be sure to stop by and let your hamster or gerbil take a few practice runs. Please subscribe to our blog so you can stay up to date on all the news.
THANK YOU so much for shopping LOCAL – and we’ll see you on April 18th for the WORLD FAMOUS Hamster & Gerbil Races at B&B Pet Stop!
