Meet the Krewe

Since the Trufant Family comes from New Orleans, we have a KREWE instead of a “staff” or a “team”. (A krewe is a group of fun-loving people who ride together in a Mardi Gras parade.)

	IN LOVING MEMORY CILL Date of Hire: 01/28/94 In April 2024, B&B Pet Stop lost – and the Universe gained- a very bright and shining star. Cill Malik passed away from a variety of health issues, many of which she kept private so that her friends and even some family members wouldn’t worry about her; which is just so CILL. Cill joined the B&B Pet Stop Krewe THIRTY YEARS ago as a salesperson in the freshwater department. Her happy, fun-loving, energetic personality – along with an extraordinary knowledge of fish – propelled her up our ranks over the years to Freshwater Supervisor for many years and Saltwater Supervisor for many more years. She helped thousands of you set up freshwater and saltwater aquariums. She tested your water and helped thousands of you troubleshoot any issues you may have had in your tank. She was a mamma-bear mentor to hundreds of young and eager newly hired B&B Pet Stop employees- whether they worked in aquatics or not. Though she stepped back and worked fewer and fewer shifts as she privately dealt with her declining health, the loss of Cill as a member of our Krewe is keenly felt. She was an enthusiastic problem-solver and so beautifully loyal to us, the Trufant family, and her entire B&B Pet Stop family. We will never be the same. She may have been a tiny, slim, spitfire – but she left behind enormous shoes to fill.
